Michigan Out-of-Doors is the official media outreach program of Michigan United Conservation Clubs.

MUCC proudly features a pair of media outlets that operate under the Michigan Out-of-Doors name: Michigan Out-of-Doors Magazine and Michigan Out-of-Doors Television.

Michigan Out-of-Doors Magazine is the official magazine publication of MUCC. Under the guidance of Editor Tony Hansen, Michigan Out-of-Doors Magazine is published 11 times a year and is one of the many membership benefits of MUCC. A subscription to the magazine is included in the price of your membership dues. The magazine is a full-color, consumer-grade publication that provides members and readers with the best information on Michigan’s great out-of-doors.

From in-depth monthly features that will tell you how to catch more fish, tag more deer and get the most of your outdoors experiences to a full stable of monthly columns written by some of Michigan foremost authorities on hunting and fishing, Michigan Out-of-Doors Magazine is Michigan’s premiere source of outdoor news and information.

Michigan Out-of-Doors magazine was created 60 years ago and continues to be one of the longest-running outdoor publications in the nation.

Michigan Out-of-Doors Television airs every Thursday night on PBS stations throughout Michigan. The television show, which features co-hosts Jimmy Gretzinger and Kelly Gotch along with producer Gabe Van Wormer has been a staple of Michigan’s outdoors since the early 1950s when it was hosted by the legendary Mort Neff. MUCC obtained the rights to the television show in 1993.

The goal of Michigan Out-of-Doors Television is to not only entertain viewers with the best in outdoor television but to also spread MUCC’s conservation message and keep viewers informed of issues that are important to them.

Michigan Out-of-Doors Television reaches more than 250,000 viewers each week. Combined with the reach of Michigan Out-of-Doors Magazine, the Michigan Out-of-Doors media team is able to spread the word about conservation across the state.
