Governor Jennifer M. Granholm established the Michigan Climate Action Council by Executive Order 2007-42 to address and make recommendations on how Michigan can address climate change. The Michigan Climate Action Council is comprised of 35 representatives from public interest groups, environmental organizations, utilities, the manufacturing sector and other key industries, universities, and state and local government agencies. The first interim report from the panel is due by the end of next April, with a final detailed report due by the end of next year. With that in hand, Michigan will have a blueprint that will put us on our way to both energy efficiency and economic prosperity! |
