Join MUCC’s On the Ground program in partnership with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources in increasing access for hunters with limited mobility by repairing accessible hunting blinds and clearing shooting lanes in the Central Unit of Maple River State Game Area. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, August 27 from 9am-1pm.

Volunteers will meet near the accessible hunting blinds located near the SGA parking lot just north of the intersection of W Maple Road and S Smith Road in the Central Unit of Maple River SGA. The parking area is on the east side of S Smith Road.

Necessary equipment like loppers, hand saws and work gloves will be provided. MUCC will have a chainsaw available for experienced volunteers to use, or you are welcome to bring your own. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own work gloves, water bottle and camp chair to use during lunch. All registered volunteers will receive free lunch and an appreciation gift.

Please contact MUCC Habitat Volunteer Coordinator Kristina Kennedy at kkennedy@mucc.org with any questions.
