U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance Announces 2012 “Dirty Dozen”

Well, you won’t find the likes of Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, or Charles Bronson in this “Dirty Dozen.”

No, sir, this 2012 version of the “Dirty Dozen,” recently released by the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, features the likes of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), and Defenders of Wildlife – a cast and crew dedicated to working against the your rights and opportunities to hunt, fish, and trap that you have worked hard to defend.

I dispute the claims of that web site regarding Sierra Club.

I and every member of my family are members of PETA,People Eating Tasty Animals. Almighty God created every seed bearing plant and tree and every animal to be used as food for man.

Why is it good to eat free range chicken but murder when you eat free range deer? Both have had a chance to roam freely and both are spared an often cruel death at the hands of nature. Is it the factVthat a hunter harvests his/his own food that makes the difference? What then about a mushroom hunter?

The real problem is with the Parks & Recreation department at the DNR. Their Plans for extensive Linear Bike PATHWAYS connecting everything, everywhere in our state, and getting funding through the PASSPORT system, state grants and funds and Federal backing through ECO-Tourism, will puch out thye Hunters and Fishermen in this state, No longer will the moneys from Licenses be so needed, and so will go the rights to hunt openly. This is not a theory…..it IS what is happening at this moment at Parks & Rec., the DNR Trails manager (Jim Radabaugh) and Lobbyist with the Michigan Mountain Bikers, along with the Greenway Alliance and other Linear Bikle Path people. Make no mistake about it. This IS the direction trhe DNR is going. Ask Ron Olsen the dept. head for Parks & Recreation.

Putting the Sierra Club, HSUS, and ASPCA in with the likes of PETA is nuts. You guys are a bunch of ignorant rednecks if you think these organizations area all alike, let alone should be targets of your “Conservation” ethics.

This list was compiled by USSA and if you read the descriptions it clearly outlines why. HSUS has been behind many of the anti-hunting initiatives in Michigan. While Michigan’s Sierra Club has not gone directly after hunting in recent years (they do tend to oppose managing habitat for game species), their chapters in other states have.
