Youth
For more than 75 years, Michigan United Conservation Clubs has offered Michigan kids ages 9-16 an amazing week-long summer camp experience. Guided by conservation values, our youth camp gives youth a chance to be fully immersed in enjoying and developing an appreciation for our great outdoors. A true Michigan experience, MUCC’s Youth Camp is held at the Cedar Lake Outdoor Center near Chelsea in southeast Michigan.
The MUCC Youth Camp is a 6-day, 5-night summer adventure designed to instill a love for the outdoors into Michigan’s kids. Since 1946, Michigan United Conservation Clubs has helped more than 58,000 kids learn the value of conservation while introducing them to the wonderful world they live in right here in Michigan’s great outdoors. Kids attending the camp will experience fishing, canoeing, swimming, hiking, forestry, wildlife identification, archery and more. Campers also learn basic firearms safety, have the opportunity to earn their hunter education certificates and learn the value of sound conservation practices.

RECRUIT. RETAIN.
Recruitment and retention: These are the keys to the future of our outdoor heritage and to the long-term sustainability of Michigan’s great outdoors. It is only through wise use of our resources — the conservation ethic — that the passions and resources we enjoy today can be ensured for tomorrow.
It is for those reasons that Michigan United Conservation Clubs devotes so much energy and resources on youth education efforts. MUCC is a leader in youth-oriented outreach in Michigan. Whether it’s our long-running Youth Camp or our celebrated Tracks Magazine youth membership program, MUCC is committed to getting the next generation of Michigan conservationists.

CAMPER PACKING LIST
Michigan United Conservation Clubs has operated summer youth camp programs continuously since 1946. During this time, more than 57,000 youth have learned to enjoy the outdoors safely and have left camp with a deeper appreciation and respect for the natural world they live in. Michigan OUTofDOORS Youth Camp is held throughout the summer at the restored Cedar Lake Outdoor Center near Chelsea, MI. This camp exceeds the sprinkling of nature programming offered by most camps by including conservation and ecology lessons as part of each and every camp offered. During their week at camp, youth will increase their knowledge of ecological concepts and broaden their awareness of conservation issues through hands-on nature experience.
